Project Overview
The Project will include construction of new run-through tracks over the US-101 freeway connecting to the mainline tracks on the West Bank of the Los Angeles River. The Project scope includes, as further described in the Project Requirements:
Construction of a new run-through track viaduct structure that spans over the US-101 freeway, Center Street and the Amtrak lead track.
Construction of new embankment structures between the viaduct and First Street bridge.
Construction of a renovated Platform 3 at LAUS with run-through track service to the mainline tracks on the west bank of the Los Angeles River, including a ramp from Platform No. 3 to the US-101 viaduct structure.
Construction of new sound walls and retaining walls in the northern section of the Project near William Mead Homes; (e) Construction of "Quiet Zone Ready" improvements at North Main Street grade crossing on the west bank of the Los Angeles River.
Construction of Commercial Street active transportation improvements; and
Completion of associated utility relocations.
